Jonathan Demme [ˈdʒɑnəθən ˈdɛmi], né le 22 février 1944 à Baldwin (Hempstead, État de New York) et mort le 26 avril 2017 à New York, est un réalisateur, producteur et scénariste américain. Oncle du réalisateur Ted Demme. Jonathan Demme découvre le cinéma durant ses études à l'Université de Floride. Après son service militaire, il fait des relations presse pour le compte d'Ambassy Pictures, puis de United Artists, tout en écrivant régulièrement pour le Film Daily de New York. Il fait ses débuts aux côtés du réalisateur-producteur Roger Corman, qui lui propose de collaborer à sa société de pr…
