John Woo

John Woo, de son vrai nom Wu Yu-seng (吴宇森) en mandarin, ou Ng Yu-sum en cantonais, est un réalisateur, producteur et scénariste sino-américain, né le 22 septembre 1946 à Canton, en Chine. John Woo grandit à Hong Kong, où il commence sa carrière en tant qu'assistant réalisateur dès 1969. Il met en scène son premier film en 1973, The Dragon tamers, et devient un réalisateur prolifique touchant à tous les genres cinématographiques avant que Le Syndicat du crime en 1986 ne l'établisse comme un maître de l'action, spécialisé dans les thrillers ultra violents. Par la suite, il tourne Le Syndic…
