De sa création en 1920 jusqu’au début des années 1980, le PCF a développé une intense activité cinématographique, sans équivalent dans les autres formations politiques, en impulsant la production, la réalisation et la distribution de centaines de films pour diffuser et défendre ses idées. Pour la première fois dans un documentaire, et à partir d’archives inédites, Pauline Gallinari et Maxime Grember nous racontent avec « Le Parti du cinéma » cette épopée politique et cinématographique.
