La Main coupée
Dans un cimetière militaire, un homme se remémore ses premiers mois dans les tranchées de la première guerre mondiale, au sein d'un bataillon de la Légion étrangère. Il y perdra sa main, et bien plus encore, des frères d'armes, des amis. Au cours de l'hiver 1914-1915, une escouade de légionnaires dont le caporal Blaise Cendrars est à la tête et dont fait aussi partie le peintre Kupka, se trouve isolée, dans les tranchées, sous la mitraille ennemie. Cet homme, c'est l'écrivain suisse Blaise Cendrars, qui rend hommage avec son récit, aux soldats de la Grande guerre.
