En 1825, une jeune femme irlandaise poursuit un officier britannique à travers la Tasmanie pour se venger d'un terrible acte qu'il a commis contre sa famille. Elle fait appel aux services d'un traqueur nommé Billy, également traumatisé par son violent passé.
