Phil Tippett

Phil Tippett est un réalisateur et superviseur des effets visuels américain, né le 27 septembre 1951 à Berkeley, Californie. Dès son plus jeune âge, il est fasciné par le stop-motion, notamment après avoir vu "Le Septième Voyage de Sinbad" de Ray Harryhausen à l'âge de sept ans. Diplômé en art de l'Université de Californie à Irvine, il commence sa carrière chez Cascade Pictures à Los Angeles. En 1975, il rejoint Industrial Light & Magic (ILM) de George Lucas, où il crée la scène d'échecs holographique en stop-motion pour "Star Wars" (1977).
