Syren est née Corina Millado le 21 mai 1971 aux Philippines. Elle a été élevée par son père en Asie. Syren a travaillé dans des magazines en Asie, a parcouru le monde et a étudié le théâtre et le théâtre à l'Université d'Hawaï.
